Heaven Sent Births and the OMA
We have become aware of rumors and stories circulating about me and Heaven Sent Births that are aimed to cause embarrassment or disparagement of my reputation in the community. These include some spurious claims about my actions or supposed inability to assist clients. Usually coupled with these rumors/stories is some attempt to encourage clients of Heaven Sent Births to seek midwifery services elsewhere.
For the record, I am no longer a member of the Oklahoma Midwife Alliance, a voluntary association of some local midwives. My legal counsel demanded full disclosure and rights from the OMA before proceeding with what we perceived to be a flawed and unfair review process. For whatever reason, the OMA chose not to provide the information or rights before taking action. There was never any client complaint which precipitated the supposed review. So, it was upon advice of counsel not to participate in an unfair review process that resulted in my disassociation with the OMA.
We are greatly disturbed by the continuity of the circulation. We are investigating the sources and will bring legal action against those responsible for starting or circulating false tales. My attorney is looking to bring actions against anyone interfering with the business relationships between Heaven Sent Births and its clients.
Feel at liberty to contact me or my attorney, Ronald A. Schaulat 405/235.6622, if you are aware of any such stories being repeated.
